I get that you guys want to bring british horror back and make us a part of history. However, I, as a stranger to british cinema would like to know what is so special about british horror films. I would like to be sold on the idea, but I am lacking information about the very subject matter itself in this video plus the blog video 1.

For a brief history of British Horror and why it's great check out the website the10poundhorrorfilm(DOT)com
At its peak, British Horror redefined the genre, working with low budgets they managed to expand its boundaries and gain new audiences. Hammer Horror for example set the standard for blood and gore which was far more challenging at the time than the recent torture porn trend (ie. Hostel)

some of the newer british horror films like dog solders and doghouse (more of a comedy i supose) and donkey punch etc are realy good! they all produce an incredibal atmosphere of unease and unberable tension!
